I’m totally in love with this cover of an amazing song – can’t seem to get it out of my head. It was performed by the award-winning Brazilian artist and composer Caetano Veloso but was originally sung by the phenomenal Billie Holiday. I found it by accident by looking for covers of the song, after listening to the original all day long. Imagine my surprise at finding a version done for a man by a man! Initially I thought it would be one of those covers in which the words are changed to make it more straight crowd-friendly but the entire song was there, word for word. he sings beautifully and I like this version almost as much as the original. He’s also quite a controversial character: besides being known for his music and activism, he’s rumored to be bisexual and appears very comfortable with his feminine side and has been known to wear dresses and feminine attire.
